MATTHEW CHEN

Matthew is from San Francisco, CA, with a strong passion for music and management. He is an independent music artist who enjoys making music and has already released his own songs. Outside of the arts, Matthew is involved in leadership positions and organizations in & out of school, all of which aim to benefit teens/youth. With lots of music and artistic experience, he hopes to share not only his own art but other artistic teens’ art as well! He is so thankful for everyone involved with SWAYE, whether that’s being a team member or an artist, as they are constantly contributing to his dream becoming a reality.

ANGELINE FONG

Angeline is a senior at Lowell High School in San Francisco, CA who enjoys teaching and inspiring others to pursue their passions. She enjoys public speaking, the sciences, and arts, having had experience working at both the California Academy of Sciences and the SF SPCA. All that aside, Angeline’s goal has always been to empower people to be proud of who they are and to help them express it in any way, shape, or form. She is head of the Gender Sexuality Alliance club at her school and is excited to work with SWAYE.

Katie is currently a senior attending Ruth Asawa School Of The Arts HS in San Francisco, studying piano. Apart from music, she also takes interest in ballet, business management, marketing, traveling, photography, cooking/baking, social justice, and so much more. She is so excited to work alongside other SWAYE team members to help empower these talented teen artists!

ashley Glancy

Ashley is a senior at Lowell High School in San Francisco, CA. She is passionate about journalism, creative writing, poetry, singing, musical theater, and martial arts, and in her free time, she enjoys playing video games, watching movies, riding her bike, playing the ukulele, going to escape rooms, and spending time with friends. She also loves Japanese food, amusement parks, Marvel movies, and dark chocolate and is involved in Ukulele Club, Karaoke Club, and Criminal Investigative Forensics Club at her school. Ashley is very excited to join the SWAYE Media team!

Bella is a high school student at the California School of Arts-San Gabriel Valley, in Diamond Bar, California. She loves musical theatre and visual arts, and is also passionate about video production and journalism. Bella has always had a special affection for the arts, and is so glad that to help with a project like SWAYE. When not in school, she enjoys reading and playing the piano.

Lam is a high school student from San Francisco. She loves all kinds of art including music, painting, and fashion. She likes to thrift vintage pieces because she believes that it makes the clothing she owes more unique and it is less wasteful to the environment. Outside of school, she works to teach younger students math. Lam’s goal is to inspire younger generations to be their true selves and expand their mind so they are able to grow into the best person they can be. She is a student advocate on her school’s PTSA and she is excited to be a part of the SWAYE team.

Charleen is a junior at Diamond Bar High School in Los Angeles, CA. She has a passion for both enjoying and creating a variety of creative arts, from design to literature to films and fashion. In their free time, she likes to listen to music, talk to friends, and draw. In the future, she would like to pursue a career within the STEM fields while also being able to continue designing. Charleen is excited that they are able to be apart of SWAYE to help teens express their creativity!

Carmela is a high school student at Lowell High School in San Francisco, California. She loves writing, painting an many forms of art. Her favorite things are stationary, aesthetic notes, and the color beige. In the future, she hopes to pursue nursing and anesthesiology and help those without access to healthcare. She is so excited to get back into arts with SWAYE media!

Born in the North but raised in the South, Jocelyn been exposed to a variety of different cultures’ narratives. Through SWAYE, She’s hoping to spread the stories of our nation’s diverse groups through literature. Also, as a second-gen Chinese American, she is passionate about sharing my unique experiences as an Asian through literature and media. In her spare time (which junior year has scarcely given her), she enjoys practicing Taekwondo, discussing politics with friends, or adding to her hiking blog!

Ava Rose Leos is currently a student at CSArts – SGV. where she specializes in Creative Writing. She plays guitar and piano. She aspires to be a music artist or other influential figure in media, and hopes to make other people as happy as her favorite artists do. She enjoys genres like lofi, rap, and rock. She loves meeting new people and is always open to conversation!

Alvin attends the California School of the Arts as part of the Visual Arts conservatory. He has always had a passion for art and sharing it with others, so it is inspiring and exciting for him to be part of the SWAYE team! Outside of school, he enjoys reading, writing, doodling, eating fabulous LA food, and playing the piano and violin.

Alicia is currently a junior attending Design Tech High School in Redwood City, California. She takes interest in martial arts, marketing, graphic design, painting, cooking, and traveling. She loves to talk to her friends, watch netflix, listen to music and meet new people. She joined SWAYE to help empower teen artists. Alicia is so excited to work alongside other SWAYE team members to help young artists express their talent and creativity!

Rebecca is a freshman attending Sonoma State University. Music, books, the outdoors, and photography are a few things that peak her interest.  She is excited to put other teen artist’s work to light and collaborate with SWAYE media!
